I also removed the cable tie this morning and there were NO leaks from any of the joints.
Don't forget to use new copper crush washers.

Looking very good and post saved for my decisions on riding position once I can get out more with the wife. Just a thought at 4 years or so, we have the same year bike, the brake master cylinder cap rubber will have lost the ability to seal properly. I bled my brakes last autumn and thought it was all dry until I took the bike off the centre stand and a drop of brake fluid landed on the fairing. It seems the brake fluid finds its way out and almost invisibly runs between the master reservoir and underneath via that little channel next to the bars. I only found it with a torch. Bought a new rubber gasket and all good. Thought I would mention it just in case. The dealer told me they all tend to go around that age if disturbed.

I must admit I do like these bars and I am tempted to do the conversion myself

My worry is the view out of the mirrors!

I don't want to go down the route of additional mirrors

I did not use the oem mirrors once today when i was out.
I'm going to cover them up with some vinyl wrap.
So if you dont want mirrors on the bars, dont do the swap.

ps. i dont know if not having the bar risers would make using the oem mirrors better.
But i wanted the handlebars raised.

I need to replace the silent blocks at the top of the suspension because the right side has some play. To do that, I need to remove the top yoke. I'd like to understand how I can remove the bottom nut without dismantling the fairings.

Can someone tell me?

Lovely JOB! Just what I plan to do. I have T-rex arms and my shoulders and neck love a sit up riding position. ADV bikes with risers work for me so this mod, with extended brake lines and at least one bar mirror is the the ticket. NICECNC makes a brake line extension as well I believe.
Drilling the ignition switch is mention. Can you shed some light on that process? Thanks for posting this!

You basically need to transfer the ignition switch module to the gs yoke, it’s a couple of security screws that need drilling out, you reinstall with ordinary Allen bolts or if you want to stay factory green bmw sell the screws and the security bit to tighten them, not a lot of money if i remember.

Do you notice a difference in grip vibration between 1) the stock RT clamp & press-fit bars and 2) the GS clamp and traditional steel bars? I imagine that the GS bars would better damp high frequency vibration. My hands sometimes go numb with the stock RT setup and wondering if this change would help. Thanks.
