For those of us with a 49ltr Top Box.

To all those who have a 49ltr top box, apart from one nicked from a K1600, has anyone got one with the chromed fitting on the lid???
Reason for asking, is that the rear brake light is advertised in the BMW R1200RT brochure in a chrome surround, a bit of bling you may say.  Well I ordered one and was most disappointed to find the dealers fitted the world's most expensive LED strip without chrome.
I pointed out the chromed bling and was told it must be an error in the brochure.  I presume the picture in the brochure has been a K1600 box...
Oh yes also forgot.  They've fitted the audio system, rang me 3 days later to see how I was getting on with it, they were not phased when I said I couldn't understand how to use it as they only gave me the handbook printed in German...... Useless idiots!!!
Has anyone fitted a non BMW, non SKERNE led strip to their top box? I'm using the dealer fitted one to ram up the service department's rear!!!!!!

I have the chrome fitting on my top box - together with the rear brake light, but I had to order the chrome thing separate.
I ordered all possible chrome fittings for the bike  :-)

The Norwegian prices are way out compared with other countries :-)


Total some NOK 1900,- for the chrome for topbox and the side bags.
The light was NOK 1500,- alone ;(


The bike had a total kost of NOK 300.000,-  - last year  :eek:

Yep - grand total - including all options - NOK 300k, and that did not include the GPS (had one from before) 


300,000.00 NOK = 24,717.00 GBP

Crazy expensive buddy. The same one costs approx 20000 euros in the rest of Europe. I know how expensive can get as I do stay in Denmark. Double prices

I put this strip on and it's quite bright.  Works as tail light and brake light (30% brightness as tail light and 100% as brake light).  It has 95 LEDs in the strip.
