Exhaust Silencer
I maybe changing in my ways, but is it worth having an aftermarket exhaust silencer on the RT.
I have an Akrapovic on my zx9r, i had Akrapovic's on my Gen2 Hayabusa. But these bikes were for speed.
Apart from a little bit of weight saving and maybe a couple of extra bhp. does the RT need it in the real world.

Re: Exhaust Silencer
Think aftermarket looks much better than the original lump and that Arrow pipe sounds awesome. But it doesn't have that stupid cat on it

Re: Exhaust Silencer
Thought about it too and decided to keep it stock. While the big chrome silencer looks awful on the R/RS, to me it's OK on the RT especially with the Triple Black colors.

You're riding a Gentlemans bike now. It's all about adding weight now and riding past silently.

Re: Exhaust Silencer
Coming back to this old thread i did. I did buy a beowulf exhaust for Artie, but i got fedup with how loud it was as it made me want to ride faster.
So for those with the Akrapovic fitted, how loud is it over the stock exhaust when on the move.

Re: Exhaust Silencer
I have an Akra fitted an have for some time so I don’t really recall how much louder it is. I get a nice backfire pop every now and then when decelerating but don’t think overall it is too offensive. However, if you take the removable baffle out it is too loud for comfort.

Re: Exhaust Silencer
The Akrapovic has turned up today. Should have time Friday or the weekend to fit it.

Re: Exhaust Silencer
I bought a used Akrapovic for mine not long after I bought it, it turned up damaged in transit but before returning it I did fit it just to see what it was like.
I found it just as heavy, was louder on startup in my shed, didn’t seem to add anything performance wise so I never bothered with another.
