Still selling used bikes and workshop facilities though.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

This happened to CW Motorcycles in Dorset, an exceptional dealership. Within a couple of years they were gone.

Dealers are all struggling. Bmw keep churning out motorcycles with eye popping prices if it wasn't for PCP how many would be going out the showroom doors, do we need this technology that ultimately comes at a price. I personally don't think so .Good luck to Reiten Mottrad for diversifying it's sink or swim .

It's not that what's causing the issue.Gs4Rt wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:34 am Dealers are all struggling. I'm led to believe bmw are imposing very high costs and restrictions that some dealers can't keep up with
I am led to believe they are giving some dealers an ultimatum too! Get rid of all the other manufacturers and go bmw only or lose bmw

The same thing happened with Honda when they wanted their retailers to become Honda Solus dealers.

What is "BMW's new corporate identity" and what has it got to do with customer service.
If Reiten Motorrad are continuing to be an "Authorised BMW Service Centre", surely this is more important than a corporate identity.

More like "we take you for a ride"
Going by the problems with the 1300GS with weekly recalls. Selling 3 month old demo's and owners selling within 6 months they are not the premium company that they were.
They have even let out that a 1400GS is coming out in 2025. But who will buy it after the 1300GS problems?

Re: Reiten Mottrad no longer selling new BMW bikes
Money. BMW Corporate have spent a lot if it to create their image what happens when a punter walks through the door, through to getting them to sign on the dotted line and looking after them post sale. They expect their dealers to look & act according to the corporate handbook. Now that's fine if you're car dealer shifting 50 new cars a week at an average of £50k each, you can afford to pay for the new corporate identity and send everyone from the tea boy to the Sales Director on the appropriate BMW Approved courses. A stand alone bike showroom selling 5 new bikes a week (if they're lucky) at an average of £15k, well you do the maths and look at the economics. The simple facts of life is the motorcycle market is currently not shifting enough units to pay for one brand only dealers.

Re: Reiten Mottrad no longer selling new BMW bikes
Jaguar had to go with a corporate identity and my 5 nearest dealers have either stopped trading, selling second hand cars, or selling Chinese cars. BMW were always expensive, but are now getting out of reach. Watch out, this green agenda will play into the Chinese hands and next generation electric bikes.

In September last year (2024), Vertu Sunderland opened a Ducati dealership in what used to be their MINI car showroom.Capt Sisko wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 9:48 pmThe simple facts of life is the motorcycle market is currently not shifting enough units to pay for one brand only dealers.
Vertu now sell BMW & Ducati motorcycles on the same site, next door to each other.
(The MINI cars have been relocated alongside BMW in the same showroom).

Looks like this doesn't fit with "BMW's new corporate identity".
