R1200rt

Post by Bmwshit »

Hi all have R1200rt 2011 ex cop put in k&n air filter and now bike in spluttering on acceleration. The bike has been stripped of all excess weight Have put in 27 ohm resistor in airtemp line dropped air inlet temp to -12c at 21c at and still no difference. Have new plugs denso iu24 iridium x4. Don't bother about dealer as they don't help unless you pay them a fortune and then they will undo all my mods. Used to get sub 2.9s 0 to 100kph now over 3s with k&n. Any genuine help will be appreciated. My goal is to get the bike down to 2.6s or better 0 to 100kph.

Easy test: Remove the K&N filter and see if that makes a difference. If not, then replace the resistor. If those are the only two mods, then one or the other (or both) are the cause.

I know it is the K&N causing the problem it has leaned it out too much. Just need to richen up the mixture which is why the resistor but still does it from time to time. The resistor has made a difference. My next thing is to increase the resistance to 35 ohm and see what that does. Unless you know another way of richer up the mixture.
