BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Hi guys,

I've searched all over and can't find a definitive answer on where to plug a CANsmart (or EZcan) on my 2024 R1250RT. I have removed the cowling and found the RDC plug that the instructions say to use if you do NOT have TPMS. I also see the DWA module under a plate (which I have not removed), but I don't see an actual RDC module in the rear of the bike. I found excellent illustrations of the RDC and DWA modules at the Chigee site, so I know what I'm looking for. I also found a video of the installation on an older RT, and he said that the RDC module was moved to newer RTs, but he had no idea where it is. I've found nothing posted in the past 3+/- years showing how to install on an RT. If I can just plug into the RDC plug, that would make it really easy, but the instructions specifically say that the CANsmart/EZcan should not be plugged in there if you have TPMS.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2024 model as well and have installed the Denali CANsmart. Have you managed to install yours yet? If not, I can try and help.

There is a blanked plug under the top box carrier. Difficult to find without removing the carrier but it is possible if you plug it into the wrong place you get all sorts of errors.

Ah. I noticed his post was in May and apparently no one had responded at least until my response. Since the post was quite a while ago, I didn't think I'd hear anything. Thank you for confirming.
