I've been a BMW aficionado for a while and owned several, but today I took ownership of my first R1200RT. Found a 2007, garage queen, with only 13,800 miles and here's the best part.... Yeah baby, it came with a Russell Day Long Saddle. Upon getting her home, I promptly dumped the engine oil, transmission oil and final drive oil. I replaced with Mobil1 15w50 and 75w140 SuperTech full synthetic.
I live in western Colorado and the riding is completely amazing.

Welcome to our site. Blue 07 models are the best. They are easier to fix due to the lack of fancy electronics in the newer bikes.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Sounds like your doing all the right things. I loved the couple of RDL seats I've had, but as I've changed a few bikes I've not go another just in case I do it again 
The problem is that in the UK it's quite costly to send your seat over to the USA, and then have them returned again, it adda couple of hundred dollars to it, making it quite expensive

I had a 2009 R1200RT a few years back and took it all over the western slope. Those roads out near Gateway and the Million Dollar Highway are just unreal on a touring bike. Sounds like you did a full fluid reset, which is smart with a used bike—especially in our dry temps here where engines tend to run hotter.
If you ever plan on moving your bike long-distance, I had mine transported a couple times when I relocated for work, and finding someone reliable for motorcycle shipping isn’t always easy.
