Re: Best electrical accessory hub?

The Healtech one is good.

I can offer a good deal on a new, unused one (I bought 2 by accident!)

Re: Fancy a Change ?.

Well, I've sat on the new 1300RT LE Automatic at Lind Welwyn. Fabulous looking machine with every conceivable 719 option including the milled aluminium bits marked up at a smidge over £29k.

The redeisgned motor has the gearbox under the engine to allow a longer swing-arm, which should give an ...

Re: never to old to learn

In 2014 when the LC RT was introduced, there was also a change in the regulations to the effect that if luggage was included as standard on the bike then it had to be included in the wet weight*. So 279 kg it is - for a bare bike with no ESA, radio, top box etc. So a fully-specced LE model with ...

Hopefully some one in the US will be along to answer this. We don't have HD radio in Europe.

Re: Anyone with Kenda KM1 tires

The difference between a high end tyre and a low end is how they behave on the limit of grip and how easy the bike is to control when that limit is exceeded (i.e. what happens at break-away). Also braking distance in the dry is a factor.

Most touring tyres are faster then their riders on dry roads ...

Re: Reiten Mottrad no longer selling new BMW bikes

I think there a couple of issues here.

1) Discounts on new machines. Reiten cannot match the discounts offered by other dealers - and they are 100% open about it. They were/are "happy" for you to buy elsewhere and bring the servicing to them. The only way they could price-match would be if ...

BMW R1200/1250 RT LC bits

1) BMW Cockpit bag WUN-20891-000 for pre-2020 RTs with dials. This is very useful for passports, ferry tickets and Toll Booth tags.

These are £75.00 from Nippy Norman. I'd like £35.00 posted (UK only).

2) Connector for Iphone. This will connect an iPhone to a pre-2020 ...

BMW Pannier Bags

Pannier bags for the 2014-on LC RT.

These are in very good conditions and have many more touring holidays left in them.

Complete with carrying straps.

I know you can get cheaper pattern ones on eBay but they are not as nice.

They do not have the firm base, holding straps inside the case to ...

Re: What’s the lightest modular and full face helmet ?

Well, you're not the only one with this problem. I had to give up a Neotec 2 because of the weight.

The Shoei NXR2 weighs 1300g compared to 1700g of the equivalent Neotec 3 (size S).

I'm using an NXR and a J-Cruise open face. I'm also trying a BMW System 7, but the fit isn't as good as the Shoei ...

Re: Just joined and a question already!

The tricky part is getting good sound quality from speakers at 70mph with the wind rushing past your helmet.

Motorcycling has now adopted the modern fashion in automobiles, namely using Apple Carplay or Andriod Auto to mirror the screen on the smartphone.

The latest way is to use a helmet ...

Re: adding alarm and central locking to 2016 R1200RT

If you have to wait for a reply, it means that most of the models sold had Central Locking as standard. So yours is quite a rare machine.

In the UK your machine would have an "SE" designation, whereas the "LE" (Luxury Edition) was more popular.

Good luck.

Re: Painting costs

My 49 litre top-box will be 20 years old next year.
It has has been repainted into metallic dark red and now Alpine White.

I take it to a cheap back street repair shop in North London and try to avoid paying VAT ;)
