Poor heating of seats

I checked the voltage to my front seat heater at the connector under the seat. With the engine running, I got 14.3 vdc. I then checked the seat heater resistance and got a reading of 4.3 ohms.

If you check the voltage at you seat heater connector, will you also check the heater resistance too. I'd like to know the resistance value you find.

The volt meter came yesterday. It's been a long time since I've used one... (used them on guitars mostly), so I'll have to figure out how to measure both numbers!

When you measure what the electrical is putting out , do you touch the red/black probes to ground and ... something else... I presume????

I checked the voltage at the connector under the seat. I disconnected it and used the female end of the connector for testing the voltage. the female end of the connector will have its' wires going back to the power source which is the battery. The male end of the connector will have its' wires going into the seat and to the heater.

To reach the electrical pins in the female connector, I had to use two wires small enough to fit inside the connector so as to make contact with the metal pins. There are two pins, one for the positive voltage and one for the negative. I was careful not to short out the two pins with power on them.

If you are not comfortable testing the voltage yourself or are unsure as how to safely test for voltage, please have a qualified technician do the check for you. Shorting the positive and negative wires together can create more problems than you have now.

I have never had an issue of no heat tille the other day!! which is when I forgot to plug it back in

I have been pretty impressed with the heat off mine to the point where I have had to turn it off as it was burning my ass!

If you are getting no heat at all then you have an issue somewhere!

It would be good if you could find someone local to swap seats with just to try it

Hello guys, I also have a problem with the driver's seat, it doesn't heat up at all, I checked the voltage at the plug and it shows 14.5v but with pulsations from 4.5v to 14.5v with all 5 dashes on the board, if I drop the dashes the maximum voltage also drops, for example at 2-3 dashes the voltage fluctuates from 4-5v to 7.5v, is it ok like this with current or does it have to be constant? if I turn off the seat heating at the plug it stays at 4.5v permanently without any play
