Reiten Mottrad no longer selling new BMW bikes

It doesn't Look your usual fancy pants BMW dealership does it? Saying that though, if they give a better deal on bike sales and good quality servicing I wouldn't hesitate using them.

It might look a bit back street but you try booking a service there. Normally they are working 3 months ahead! They get good reviews and loads of repeat customers. I never get to go there because they are so booked up and I never know when I will need a service as my mileage varies so much. So I could book in, like I did last year and then put a load of miles on my bike and couldn’t bring my service forward.

I think there a couple of issues here.

1) Discounts on new machines. Reiten cannot match the discounts offered by other dealers - and they are 100% open about it. They were/are "happy" for you to buy elsewhere and bring the servicing to them. The only way they could price-match would be if the husband and wife owners stopped paying themselves salaries or stopped investing in the business so that it could grow.
BTW for similar reasons there are no winter servicing discounts such as NOG or Sycamore sometimes offer.

2) BMW were very good about allowing the fledgling dealership not to go "all corporate" with the extremely expensive black flooring and interior decor - including the workshop area. They probably would have gone bust on day one otherwise.
If BMW have called time on that generous arrangement (possible lobbying from their competitors??), then I can understand the reluctance to invest in the current showroom if they really want to expand to somewhere else. After all, they are getting more servicing work after the closure of Lind, Norwich.

I shall continue to support Reiten in any way that I reasonably can.

Yeah, I’ve seen this sort of thing happen locally too. A dealership I used to go to dropped KTM after getting hit with similar demands from the main brand. They just couldn’t justify giving up the other bikes that actually sold well just to be a one-brand shop. It feels like a tough position for smaller dealerships, especially when the brand’s expectations don’t match local market demand.

Some of the guys I ride with had to look further afield for servicing after their favorite shops stopped carrying certain brands. One of them actually shipped his Ducati for some major work.
