Has anyone used the gs911 to perform the brake fluid change / bleed the abs pump on a 2019 R1250rt or similar ?.
I was thinking of just booking it in somewhere to get this done but I have nowhere near me that’s any good .
As I have a gs911 I thought I’d give it a go, is it easy ?, is there a guide somewhere maybe ?.
Although what's the reason for wanting to do it? I later found out that you don't need to do it to bleed the brakes ad it's only really there is it's to be filled up from dry as the fluid goes through the abs pump anyway and flushes the old fluid out
Reason for wanting to do it is part of home servicing, I wasn’t aware just bleeding the brakes conventionally the abs pump would be purged of old fluid, I don’t think I’ve been in a scenario where the abs has activated out on the road.
I did it thinking I had to but not sure it was really needed but I suppose it makes no difference if you have the GS-911 to do it then theres no harm really

Caps off, full of fluid and some fluid come out but not a great deal
Here is the procedure for bleeding the brakes and at no point in any of it does it say to activate the ABS pump.

Thanks for the pdf Stu, when you say some fluid came out do you mean it spilled out the reservoirs ?.
I’ll probably just change the fluid, I was looking at those stainless steel easi bleed nipples . Do you know if you just leave them in afterwards ?.
I have a 2105 and bought the BMW Service Manual CD when I purchased the bike 4 years ago. The procedure in the FSM does not mention "bleeding the ABS pump". The downloadable PDF in the previous post is from the FSM.
Well I’ve got 500ml of bmw brake fluid, genuine oil filter, sump washer and the 2 washers or a final drive fluid change coming from BMW for £26.04. Ordered 5L of the S&M 5w/40 at £28.99 so a fairly respectable price for a small home service.
Oh and just ordered a one way valve brake bleeder for £4.
I’ll refer to the pdf for bleeding the brakes.
