Rear seat side panels
When i got Artie the panels that the panniers fit over were scratched. On saturday i managed to buy a pair from a brakers on ebay. They came today and i was very happy to see they were in better condition than mine. There are some scratches where the panniers fit over the panel, but about 75% less t...

Re: Single or Pairs
Thanks guy.
I will change them as a pair, but keep the old front as a back-up.

Single or Pairs
This is the first bike where i get very good mileage from the rear tyre. On all my other bikes i've got 2 rear to 1 front "just" in less than 5k miles. So what should i do, change the pair or just the rear and leave the front. I just changed the pair on my Varadero at 3.5k miles (2 up all ...

Re: What did you do today?
Yesterday i fitted a new YSS rear shock on my Honda XL1000 Varadero and tested it. I then removed it and adjusted it and refitted it, then tested it. I then removed it and adjusted it and refitted it, then tested it. I then removed it and adjusted it and refitted it, then tested it. I then thought f...

Re: What did you do today?
Had a little ride on my own today. I would of gone by Hay-On-Wye and Talgarth but took a wrong turning and could not be asked to turn around. It was a good ride and i enjoyed it which is the main thing.

Re: What did you do today?
Today i thought it was time to tidy up the workshop. I started at just before 7am and by midday it was in a bigger mess. I did tidy it up, but then started going though what i had in boxes on the shelves. 3x1m shelves cleared, but big pile of rubbish now on the floor. This is going to take longer th...

Re: What did you do today?
Yesterday i replaced the rear tyre on my Varadero. I also removed the rear shock. I got the haynes manual out and it told me to remove the fuel tank, rear ABS unit and a couple of other items. I thought bugger that. I ended up making a bent 17mm & 14mm spanners so i could get to the top mount wi...

Re: What did you do today?
Managed to get out for an hour today, the new ( used) boots are a bit disappointing, a little tight around the ankles but very hard to change gear getting them to bend to get my toes under and over the lever, do these Daytona boots loosen up at all ?, also no real feel for the lever either and noti...

Re: What did you do today?
We got out on the bikes today. What a lovely day it is to. We jumped on the M4 to Bristol. Stopped at Fowlers as i wanter to look at a Versys 1000 they had. We then went up to the cafe there and had some chips and a coffee. It also cost me £200 as the wife saw a helmet she liked, so i brought it for...

This photo shows the camber of the road at the turning. And see how clear the road sign is.
The top one is a dead end sign and the one below is the village i needed to get to.

Re: It was bound to happen
Just to add, the SOS works as i had a guy asking if i was ok and if i needed any help. I did wonder where the voice was coming from.
I also found that i broke a fixing on the front fairing panel on the left side. Its the screw that you get to from behind the speakers to remove the front panel.
